Derrell
was born and raised in Bay County. His family moved to Panama
City Beach in 1923. He attended Bay High School and Gulf Coast
Community College. He is married to Lisa Day and has 3 children;
Erica Day Price, Gabriel Day and Nathan Day. 2 grandchildren;
Adrienne Martin and Natalie Martin.
Derrell served in the United States Army, 3rd Battalion 13th
Field Artillery of the 25th Infantry Division from 1974-77. He
was chosen to serve as an Honor Guard for the National Cemetery
of the Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1980 after 3
additional years in the USAR and was awarded the National
Defense Service Ribbon and the Army Good Conduct Ribbon. He
joined the US Merchant Marines in 1978, received his first
Captain's license in 1983 and achieved a Master of Ocean Steam
or Motor Vessels in 1991.

I am running for office under the banner of the Republican
political party, but my allegiance to that party will be second
to that of the People and the good of our Constitutional
Republic, So Help Me God.
